Shell Stitch Scarf
I wanted to make my MIL something nice for Christmas last year, so as I sat, pregnant, and bed-ridden, I decided to make her a scarf. My hubby is from England and his family is still there so I thought it a nice gift, seeing as it’s always cold and dreary there. (Just kidding Honey!)
I found a simple Shell Stitch pattern on Ravelry and went to town. You can find the pattern here at Joyful Abode.
I didn’t add ends to it, as I thought this was more my MIL’s style, but I have made others with ends on them, just like the pattern calls for.
This is a VERY simple pattern and it works up quickly. Most of the scarves I make take about 1 1/2 – 2 skeins of yarn, depending on if I want the person to be able to wrap it around their neck a few times and still have enough length left to show off the pattern. In the end, it isn’t very costly to make.
